It was a nice quiet weekend. Friday night we watched some Stargate SG1, which should shock everybody; reading ahead in the episode guide we found that our next SG1 episode sent the crew to Atlantis and we decided that we ought to catch up there. On Saturday I drove down to Chicagoland to pick up apple pancakes, and stopped at a Half-Price Books along the way (alright, it was out of the way). There I stumbled - and it was entirely coincidence - across the first four seasons of SGA on DVD and some books I had been looking for (including the last of the Cadfael books). I meandered a bit on the way home, driving through neighborhoods I haven't visited in ten years or so. Some things have changed and some haven't, but the Saturday Morning Flashback show on XRT made a great soundtrack for the trip. That night we started Atlantis, which is definitely different than SG1 and SGU. On Sunday we watched a little bit more.
Split between the two days I caught up on Demons (which reminds me of Buffy, but isn't as well-written) and Caprica (which is practically Galactica all over again) and cleaned up the DVR listings. Oh, and Laura spent the weekend resting - she's got a lingering sinus thing which she's trying to beat, and we're both gearing up for three events in a row in February. As a result, we didn't make it to Carlos and Missy's house - but I hear they had fun.
We have no plans tonight, tomorrow is gaming, and that's our plans for the week. (Fighter's practice won't happen again until next week.) I still need to sew my new chausses and look into some other armor changes; I could stand to fix or replace my 'sword bag' (once known as 'Laura's old golf bag') too. And I decided a couple days ago that it's time to repaint the basement stairs ... but I have to admit that I'm worried about jinxing the basement. Last time I painted those stairs, the waters rose...
